A country park that is as large and disparate as Wynyard Woodland Park is not straightforward to manage from either an environmental or visitor perspective.
The countryside rangers and visitor centre coordinator, based at the visitor centre, are in charge of the day-to-day running and maintenance of the site. They have a programme of work to care for each section of the site as well as organising public events and school visits. Volunteers are always welcome to help with any aspect of the general running of the park (please contact the countryside rangers on 01740 630011).
If you notice anything in the park that you feel needs drawing to the attention of the countryside rangers please contact them to let them know or leave feedback on these screens, the help of the public in caring for and running the site is greatly appreciated. Please assist the staff in the running of the park by following the country code, observing the byelaws and being aware of emergency procedures and telephone numbers should you get into difficulty.
The overall management of the park comes from Stockton Borough Council’s parks and countryside section and the Wynyard Woodland Park Environmental Trust. The park also has a friends group that visitors are encouraged to join. Some members of this group sit on the environmental trust thereby conveying the requests and opinions of our valued visitors to the park management, influencing their viewpoint and decisions.
