Harmonised quality standards for hotels and guest accommodation have been introduced and will be used by the English Tourism Council, AA and RAC throughout Britain and Ireland. Trained impartial inspectors visit properties annually so that you can have confidence that your accommodation has been thoroughly checked and rated for quality before you make your booking.
Using a simple one to five rating, the new system puts greater emphasis on quality and is based on research that showed exactly what customers are looking for when choosing accommodation. Hotels are given a rating from one to five stars, whilst diamonds represents guest accommodation.
