The site measures approximately 8 hectares in area, with the ponds covering around 6 hectares and the remainder taken up by amenity grassland, scrub and poplar/willow woodland. Angling is allowed on the site, the fishing rights being held by the Billingham Sportsman’s Angling Club. A small car park and hard surfaced paths allow easy access around two thirds of the pond. The remaining section is maintained as a quiet wildlife sanctuary area.
