Three facilities on the park are available for certain community, educational or local groups to hire for meetings or events:
The Planetarium: is a unique environment that comfortably seats 65 people in an auditorium suitable for presentations and discussions. The audio-visual facilities are also available for use.
The Railway Carriage: is designed as a schoolroom for 30 children plus adults, it is ideal for school or educational activities. Projection facilities are available upon request.
Tilery Wood Hut: is a rather basic forestry hut, with no amenities to speak of, which can accommodate 20 people. It is hired by the local caravan club for some of their events, but would also be suitable for scout, brownie or other similar groups on organised adventure and woodland activities.
Toilet facilities are available in the public toilet block for Planetarium and Carriage bookings and a key can be obtained out of normal working hours, although it is preferred that these amenities are hired during the usual visitor centre opening hours. There are no toilet facilities available in Tilery Wood.
Park facilities and events can be booked in advance by contacting the countryside staff on 01740 630011. Any requests for audio-visual or other equipment should be made at the time of booking.
The Tea Rooms can also take advance bookings and sometimes cater for meetings. This is, however, a separate business and not run by Stockton Borough Council so arrangements must be made independently with them. If a large party of people plan to come to the tea rooms on a normal opening day then it is advisable to ring and let them know in advance to avoid the disappointment of along wait to be served or seated. The Tea Rooms can be contacted on 01740 630731.
